Maggie Is Appointed to FACA Nephrology Subcommittee

Maggie has been appointed as a special government employee to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) Nephrology Subcommittee.

Subcommittee members provide scientific peer review of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) research program applications submitted to Biomedical Laboratory Research and Development and Clinical Science Research and Development Services.  Chen will serve on the nephrology panel to review VA Merit Review Grants for a three-year term (2020-2023).

Participants are appointed because of their outstanding scientific credentials to help maintain a high quality of VA research and to ultimately help improve the quality of health care for United States Veterans.

In the past three years, Maggie has received a Children’s Discovery Institute and Human Stem Cell Core Pilot Grant, a $1.52M NIH R01 Grant, a Center for Drug Discovery Investigator Matching Grant, a $300K Mallinckrodt Challenge Grant, a $1.8M Department of Defense Grant, a NU GoKidney Grant, and was honored at WashU’s Office of Technology Management 2nd Annual Celebration of Inventors.
